Conforma™ is an infrastructure to orchestrate services which wrap software tool automation, integrate data in a common vocabulary, and provide reporting facilities for the data. Conforma™ will speed up workflow with business process automation. Companies will benefit from simplified reporting across tools and data sources by using a single interface for viewing and reporting data produced by disparate software tools.

Processes change over time; Conforma provides a highly agile means for businesses to adapt to changes to produce highly accurate, low cost, and repeatable processes that integrate with their current practices and tools. Our pluggable infrastructure allows integration & interoperability of disparate 3rd party tools in a modular fashion using tool adapters, and is extensible to handle virtually any 3rd party tool as complex as Microsoft Visual Studio and embedded systems compilers (while isolating the user from the operating environment). Pluggable tool adapters are “write once and reuse” and can be contributed to a library for sharing among organizations.

We envision communities of interest forming around vertical domains (e.g., software quality assessment) and cultivating tool adapters for best-of-breed tools. Conforma unifies tool input/output into ArtifactML, a single canonical vocabulary. ArtifactML records all of the data associated with executed processes so that results can be reproduced. Conforma automates software testing, quality assurance, compliance checking, and any type of repetitive analysis of artifacts (i.e. – source code, Microsoft files, contract documents, and more) using Business Processes (BP) & Business Rules (BR). BPs & BRs provide abstraction for orchestration and logic concepts without any need for programming or recompiling code, meaning that changing processes is easy. These can also be shared as “best practices” among organizations. Users can manage/execute their Conforma processes and reports through any web browser; no software need be installed.
